Ink Blot News

Quick updates on what I’ve been up to.

May 4, 2026

I’ve nixed my newsletter in favor of quick updates here on my new Ink Blot News page (look at my logo and that will make sense). Full newsletters are tiresome to create, and ain’t nobody got time to read all that. This, I can do. And because I loathe inbox clutter, I’ll post on social media when I’ve posted here. If you haven’t already, follow my author accounts on Facebook, Instagram and TikTok. The links are at the bottom of this page or find me @korenfreelauthor. All my content is bookish related, and I try to keep things light and fun.

Now for the news. A LOT has happened in the last few years. I’m on the other side of chemo and I can finally think clearly. I’m 70% done writing my second book, “Woo Girl,” and hope to publish winter of 2026. More on that in the future.

While I was down for the blood cell count, some very cool things happened. First, the Audiobook for The Ginhouse Hollow went live on Audible and iTunes! I absolutely adore my narrator, Marry Ellin Kurtz, and hope you do as well. Second, there are three amazing independent bookstores in Southwest Washington that now carry my book: Autum Leaf in Camas, White Oak Books in Vancouver, and Powell’s Books in Portland. Powell’s was a dream come true, and if you pop in, please post a picture with my book on your socials! It’s in the Blue Room, aisle 211-212.

I also attended several book club meetings for their discussion and WOW are they a ton of fun. If your club chooses to read The Ginhouse Hollow, and you are interested in having me attend your meeting, just ask!

Right now is all about refreshing my website and Shopify store and preparing for the Northwest Book and Media Fair on June 27. I’m able to sell items at a lower price in person, so come by booth #68 and check out the merch! You can find the same items on my Store: Books, candles, stickers, and my new Bless Your Heart Tote Bag will launch later in this month.

Cheers, and may the fourth be with you!
